Winter service for residential complexes, businesses and households
When it gets icy, things need to happen fast. We take care of snow clearing and gritting for you, according to a fixed plan and fully documented.
Under their town’s street cleaning bylaw (Straßenreinigungssatzung), owners – and often tenants too – are obliged to clear and grit the pavement in front of their property when there is snow or ice. If you cannot manage this yourself, you can transfer the task to a service provider by contract.
We take over the winter service for the agreed areas: pavements, entrances, bin areas and parking spaces. Every visit is documented with the date, time and work carried out, so you have proof should you ever need it.
What’s included
- Snow clearing on pavements and entrances
- Gritting with abrasive materials, salt only where permitted
- Entrances, steps and bin areas
- Parking spaces and driveways by arrangement
- Inspection rounds when there is a risk of ice
- Documentation of every visit
- Can be combined with garden maintenance
How the winter service works
Defining the areas
We walk the areas with you and record them in a plan.
Seasonal contract
You receive a quote with the scope of services and service times.
Visits
We clear and grit in line with the times set in the bylaw and document every visit.
End of season
Leftover grit is swept up by arrangement, and you receive all logs together.
Good to know
Each town sets its clearing and gritting times in its street cleaning bylaw. We follow the bylaw of the town where your property is located.
Important: even if you hand over the winter service, you still have a duty to check that it is done. Our visit logs make it easy to prove that you have carried out these checks.
Places for the season are limited because we plan fixed routes. It is best to sign the contract by mid-October.
What the cost depends on
- Size and number of areas
- Location of the property within our route planning
- Services required, e.g. parking spaces as well
- Gritting material
- Flat rate per season or billing per visit
We only quote a reliable price once we have seen the site. The site visit and the initial consultation are free and non-binding.
Free initial consultationFAQ: Winter service
By when do I need to book the winter service?
Ideally before the season starts, i.e. by mid-October. Then we can include your property in our fixed routes.
Does the contract release me completely from the obligation to clear snow?
The work itself is transferred to us. The owner retains a duty to check. Our visit logs help you prove these checks.
Do you use salt?
Many towns only allow road salt on pavements in exceptional cases. We usually use abrasive materials such as grit or granules and comply with the local bylaw.
